Contemporary dance is a genre of concert dance that employs compositional philosophy, rather than choreography. Contemporary combines Ballet technique with Modern teachings to create new and unique movements. Contemporary classes focus on technique and center combinations, along with improvisation and choreographic composition.
Students should expect to spend a minimum of 2 years in each level.
Contemporary II (Ballet class required)
Contemporary III (Ballet III or higher required)
Beginning/Intermediate Teen Contemporary (Ages 11^) Designed specifically for teen dancers who have little to no experience.
Proper Contemporary attire is required: Leotard or form fitting top, form fitting shorts or pants, Contemporary shoes, hair in secured bun.
